And the whole multitude of them arose, and led Him to Pilate,
And they began to blame Him, saying: We have found that He corrupts our people and forbids giving to give to Caesar, calling Himself Christ the King.
Pilate asked Him: Are you the King of the Jews? He answered and said to him: "You speak."
Pilate said to the chief priests and the people: I find no fault in this man.
But they insisted, saying that He angered the people, teaching throughout Judea, from Galilee to this place.
th When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked: "Is He a Galilean?"
th And when he heard that he was from the region of Herod, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem these days.
When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, because he longed to see Him, because he had heard a lot about Him, and hoped to see from Him some miracle,
And offered Him many questions, but He did not answer him.
The high priests and scribes stood and heavily accused Him.
eleven But Herod with his warriors, humiliating Him and laughing at Him, clothed Him in bright clothes and sent him back to Pilate.
And on that day Pilate and Herod became friends among themselves, for they had been at enmity with each other before.

Pilate, having called the chief priests and rulers and the people,
He said to them: "You brought this man to me, as a corrupting people; And, behold, I have examined with you, and have not found a man guilty of anything in which you accuse him;
And Herod also, for I sent Him to him; And nothing was found in him worthy of death;
Therefore, after I have punished Him, I will release him.
th And he needed to release one [prisoner] for the holiday.
But all the people began to cry: Death to Him! But release Barabbas to us.
Barabbas was imprisoned for indignation and murder in the city.
Pilate raised his voice again, wanting to release Jesus.
But they cried out: Crucify, crucify Him!
For the third time he said to them: "What evil did He do?" I found nothing worthy of death in Him; Therefore, after I have punished Him, I will release him.
But they continued with a great cry to demand that He be crucified; And the cry of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
And Pilate decided to be at their request,
And he sent to them the one who was put to death for indignation and murder into the dungeon, which they asked; But Jesus betrayed them to their will.

th And when they led him, then, capturing a certain Simon of the Cyrenian walking from the field, they put a cross on him to bear for Jesus.
th And there followed him a great multitude of people and women who wept and wept for Him.
Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem!" Do not weep for me, but weep for yourself and for your children,
For the days come which they will say: blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the breasts that have not nourished!
thirty Then they will begin to say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" And the hills: cover us!
For if they do this with a green tree, what will happen to what's dry?

Lead with Him to death and two evildoers.
And when they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified Him and the villains, one on the right and the other on the left.
Jesus said: Father! Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. And they divided his garments, casting lots.
And the people stood and looked. The chiefs also laughed with them, saying: "He saved others; Let him save himself if he is the Christ, the chosen of God.
Also, the warriors cursed Him, coming and offering Him vinegar
And saying, If thou be the King of the Jews, save thyself.
And there was above him an inscription written in words Greek, Roman and Jewish: This is the King of the Jews.
One of the hanged villains cursed Him and said: If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.
The other, on the contrary, put him to rest and said: Or are you not afraid of God when he himself is condemned to the same?
And we [are condemned] rightly, because we received what is worthy by our deeds, and He did nothing wrong.
And he said to Jesus: Remember me, O Lord, when thou comest into thy kingdom!
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

It was about the sixth hour of the day, and darkness was made throughout the whole earth until the ninth hour:
And the sun was darkened, and the veil in the temple was annoyed in the middle.
Jesus, having cried with a loud voice, said: Father! In your hands I commend my spirit. And, having said this, he gave up the spirit.
The centurion, having seen what was happening, glorified God and said: "Truly this man was a righteous man."
And all the people who came together in this spectacle, seeing what was happening, came back, beating themselves in the chest.
Yet those who knew Him, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood in the distance and looked at it.

Then someone named Joseph, a member of the council, a kind and truthful man,
Not participating in the council and in their business; From Arimathea, the city of Judah, who also expected the kingdom of God,
He came to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus;
And he took it off and wrapped it in a shroud and laid it in a coffin hewn in a rock, where no one had yet been laid.
That day was Friday, and the Sabbath was coming.
Then came the women who came with Jesus from Galilee, and looked at the sepulcher, and how His body was supposed to be;
And having returned, they prepared incense and perfume; And on Saturday remained in peace according to the commandment.
