After this, he went through the cities and villages, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God, and with him the twelve,
and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

When the assembled multitude, and of all the cities were come to him, he spake by a parable:
A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled, and the birds of the air devoured it;
And other fell on the rock, and having sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture;
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them;
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. Having said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!
And his disciples asked him what this parable be?
He told you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables; that seeing they see not, and hearing they may not understand.
eleven Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God;
Those by the way side are they that hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, lest they should believe and be saved;
Those on the rock are those who, when they hear the word with joy; but these have no root, and while believe, and in time of temptation fall away;
And that which fell among thorns are those who hear the word, but are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit;
But that on the good ground are those who hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with patience. Having said this, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear!
No one, when he hath lighted a candle, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a candlestick, that they which see the light.
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be made manifest, nor hid, that shall not be known and would not be found out did not.
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that he seems to have.
Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
And it was told him his mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
He said to them: My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.

One day he went with his disciples into the boat, and said unto them over to the other side of the lake. And they departed.
During the voyage he fell asleep. The lake stormy wind rose and flooded their [waves], and they were in danger.
And they came and woke him, saying, Master, Mentor! perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; and they ceased, and there was a calm.
Then he said to them: Where is your faith? They're afraid, and marveled, saying one to another: Who is this that commands even the winds and water, and they obey him?
And they arrived in the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
When he went forth to land, there met him a man from the city who had demons for a long time, and do not wear clothes, and lived not in a house but in the tombs.
When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beseech thee, torment me not.
For [Jesus] commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man, because he has long tormented him, so that it bound with chains and fetters; but he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the desert.
thirty Jesus asked him, What is thy name? He said: Legion, --potomu many demons had entered into him.
And they besought him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.
Here on the mountain grazing great herd of swine; and [the demons] begged him to let them go into them. He allowed them.
The demons came out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake and drowned.
The herdsmen, seeing what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the villages.
And they went out to see what had happened; and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were amazed.
Those who saw it told them how the demoniac was cured.
And all the people asked him to Gadarenes neighborhood away from them, because they were taken with great fear. He got into the boat and returned.
The man from whom the demons had gone, besought him that he might be with him. But Jesus sent him away, saying:
Return to your house and tell what God has created you. He went and preached all over town, that Jesus did to him.

Now when Jesus returned, the crowd received him, because all waiting for him.
And behold, there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue; and falling at Jesus' feet, and besought him to come to his house,
because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed,
coming up behind, touched the hem of his garment; and immediately her flow of blood stopped.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter said, and they that were with him, Master! the multitude throng thee and oppresses, --and you say, Who touched me?
But Jesus said, one has touched me, for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
The woman, seeing that she was not hid, came trembling, and falling down before him declared before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.
He said to her: Daughter,! your faith has saved you; Go in peace.
While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him: Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
But when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, Fear not, only believe, and she will be saved.
And when he came into the house, no man to go in, save Peter, John and James, and the girls father and mother.
All were weeping and mourning for her. But he said: Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeping.
And they derided him, knowing that she died.
He put them all out, and took her by the hand, she cried out: girl! Arise.
And her spirit returned; She immediately got up, and he commanded to give her something to eat.
And her parents were astonished. He charged them to tell no one what had happened.
