Two days later [ought] be [holiday] the Passover and Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might take him by craft and kill;
But they said, [just] not in the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, --prishla woman having an alabaster box of the world of pure nard, precious, and she broke the box, and poured it on his head.
Some that had indignation among themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment?
For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
But Jesus said: Let her alone; why trouble ye her? She's done a good work for me.
For the poor always ye have with you, and whenever you want, you can do them good; but me ye have not always.
She hath done what she could: she anointed my body beforehand for burial.
Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, will be told in memory of her, and that she did.
And he went Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests, to betray him to them.
eleven They heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

On the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the Passover [lamb], his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou shall eat the passover? we go and prepare.
He sent two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go into the city; and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him
and where he enters, tell the owner of the house, The Master saith, Where is the room in which I may eat the Passover with my disciples?
And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.
And his disciples went, and came into the city, and found as he said to them; and they prepared the Passover.
When it was evening he cometh with the twelve.
And as they sat and were eating, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.
They are sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one: Is it I? and another said, Is it I?
He said to them in reply, one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.
But the Son of man goes as it is written of him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been the man had not been born.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave to them and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
And he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them: and they all drank of it all.
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the covenant, poured out for many.
Verily I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
And sung a hymn, they went to the Mount of Olives.
And Jesus said to them: All you shall be offended because of me this night; for it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
Risen again, I will, I will go before you into Galilee.
Peter said unto him, If all shall be offended, but I do not.
thirty And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, in this night, before the cock crows twice, you will deny me three times.
But it is still a great effort to say: If I must die with thee, I will not deny thee. Likewise also said they all.

We came to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I pray.
And he took with him Peter and James and John; and I began to be sore amazed and very heavy.
And he said unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death; Stay here and watch.
And he went forward a little, and fell to the ground and prayed that if possible this hour pass from him;
and he said, Abba, Father! all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me; but not what I will, but what thou wilt.
He came and found them asleep, and saith unto Peter, Simon! do you sleep? could not you watch one hour?
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
And again he went away, and prayed, saying the same words.
And when he returned, he found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.
And he cometh the third time, and said to them, you still sleeping and resting? Hour has come: behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Arise, let us go; Behold, he doth betray me.

And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying: Whom I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead carefully.
And he came and immediately went over to him, and saith, Master, master! Rabbi! and I kissed him.
And they laid their hands on him and took him.
And one of them that stood by drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
Then Jesus said to them, like a robber, you come out with swords and clubs, to take me.
I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not. But the scriptures must be fulfilled.
Forsook him, and fled.
One young man, wrapped on the naked body in a blanket, followed him; And the soldiers seized him.
But he left the linen cloth, fled from them naked.

And they led Jesus to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest; and I sat with the officers, and warming himself by the fire.
But the chief priests and the whole council sought testimony against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
For many bore false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.
And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying:
We heard him say, I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.
But such evidence they were not enough.
Then the high priest stood in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? they witness against thee?
But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What further need have we of witnesses?
You have heard the blasphemy; do you think? They all condemned him to be guilty of death.
And some began to spit on him and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and say unto him: Prophesy. And the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest
and when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, said: Thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.
But he denied, saying: I neither know nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out to the front yard; and the cock crew.
The maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood This is one of them.
He denied it again. A little later, standing there began to say to Peter again, Surely thou art of them; for you are a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
But he began to curse and to swear, I know not this man of whom you speak.
Then the cock crowed for the second time. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crows twice, you will disown me three times; and I began to cry.
