Then the scribes of Jerusalem and the Pharisees come to Jesus and say:
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
And he answered and said unto them, Why then do ye transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
For God commanded: Honor the father and mother; And: He that curseth father or mother with death let him die.
And you say: if someone says to the father or mother: the gift [to God] is what you would use from me,
th He may not honor his father or his mother; Thus you have removed the commandment of God by your tradition.
th Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
My people draw near to me with their mouths, and they honor Me with their tongue, but their heart is far from Me;
But they vainly respect Me, teaching the doctrines, the commandments of men.

And when he had called the people, he said to them, Hear and understand.
eleven Not that which enters into the mouth, defiles a person, but that which comes out of the mouth, defiles a person.
Then His disciples came and said to Him, Do you know that the Pharisees were tempted when they heard this saying?
And he answering said, Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be rooted out;
Leave them: they are the blind leaders of the blind; And if the blind lead the blind, then both will fall into the pit.
And Peter answering said to Him, "Explain to us this parable."
Jesus said, "Do you not yet understand?"
th Yet do you not understand that everything entering the mouth goes into the belly and is cast out?
And proceeding out of the mouth - from the heart proceeds - this defile a man,
Because out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, perjury, blasphemy -
It defiles a person; But there are unwashed hands - does not defile a person.

And, coming out from there, Jesus retired to the countries of Tire and Sidon.
And behold, the woman of the Canaanite, coming out of those places, cried out to Him: Have mercy on me, O Lord, the son of David, my daughter is cruelly beset.
But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and asked Him, "Let her go, for she cries out for us."
He answered and said: I am sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And she, coming up, bowed to Him and said: "Lord!" help me.
th He said in response: it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.
th She said: so, Lord! But also the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the table of their lords.
Then Jesus answered and said to her: "O woman!" Great is your faith; Be it unto thee according to thy will. And her daughter was healed in that hour.

After passing from thence, Jesus came to the Sea of Galilee, and, having ascended the mountain, sat down there.
thirty And a multitude of the people came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the dumb, the maimed, and many others, and cast them at Jesus' feet; And he healed them;
So that the people marveled, seeing the dumb talking, the maimed healthy, the lame walking and the blind seeing; And glorified the God of Israel.
And Jesus called his disciples, and said unto them, I beseech the people that they have been with me for three days, and have nothing to eat; I do not want to let them go off with the neon, so that they will not weaken on the road.
And His disciples say to Him, "Where can we get so many loaves in the wilderness to feed so many people?"
Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said: seven, and some fish.
Then he told the people to sit down on the ground.
And having taken the seven loaves and the fishes, he gave thanks, broke and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the people.
And they all ate and were satisfied; And they took up the remaining pieces of seven baskets full,
And those who had eaten were four thousand people, except for women and children.
And when he sent the people away, He went into the boat and came to the Magdalene.
