Nahum 2

1 Destroyer rises on you: secure stronghold, a guide: keep the road, strengthen the loins, mightily.
2 For the Lord will restore the majesty of Jacob as the majesty of Israel, because the spoilers have laid them, and their vine branches.
3 The shield of its glory; his soldiers in scarlet; chariots with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the forest shall be terribly shaken.
4 In the streets of chariots, thunders in the squares; shine from them, as from fire; flashing like lightning.
5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; haste to the wall, but the defense shall be prepared.
6 The river gates are opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
7 It was decided: it will be exposed, and a captive, and her maids will moan like doves, beating their breasts.
8 Nineveh, since its existence was like a pool of water, yet they flee away. 'Wait, wait!' But no one looks back.
9 Plunder the silver, plunder the gold! There is no end of all stocks precious utensils.
10 Plundered, devastated and ruined it --and heart melts, the knees are shaking; all in the loins of severe pain, and all faces are darkened.

eleven Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion walked, the lioness and lion, and no one made them afraid -
12 lion steals for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with prey and his dens stolen?
13 Here, I - you! says the LORD of hosts. And I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions, and cut off from the earth your prey, and no more be heard the voice of thy messengers.
