(43-1) ^^ To the chief of the choir. Teachings. The sons of Korah. ^^ (43-2) O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us of the deeds that you did in their days, in the days of old:
(43-3) Thou hast destroyed the nations with thy hand, and planted them; He smote the tribes and drove them out;
(43-4) For they did not acquire the earth with their sword, and their arm did not save them, but Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your face, for You were pleased with them.
(43-5) O God, my King! You are the same; Grant salvation to Jacob.
(43-6) With thee shall we let ourselves be horned with our enemies; In thy name we shall exile with our feet that rise against us:
th (43-7) For I do not trust in my bow, and my sword will not save me;
th (43-8) But thou shalt save us from our enemies, and shame those who hate us.
(43-9) We praise God every day, and let us praise your name forever.

(43-10) But now You have rejected and disgraced us, and you do not go out with our troops;
(43-11) turned us into flight from the enemy, and those who hate us plunder us;
eleven (43-12) Thou hast given us as sheep to be eaten, and scattered us among the nations;
(43-13) Without profit, you have sold your people, and have not exalted its price;
He has given us up to reproach our neighbors, to ridicule and mock at those who live around us;
(43-15) Thou didst make us a proverb among the nations, a leaving of the head among the strangers.
(43-16) Every day my reproach is before me, and my face covers my shame
(43-17) from the voice of the oppressor and slanderer, from the eyes of the enemy and the avenger:

th (43-18) all this came upon us, but we did not forget You and did not break Your covenant.
(43-19) Our heart has not fallen back, and our feet have not deviated from Your way,
(43-20) When thou hast crushed us in the land of dragons, and covered us with a shadow of death.
(43-21) If we had forgotten the name of our God and stretched out our hands to a strange god,
(43-22) Would God not seek this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
(43-23) But for you we are killed every day, they consider us to be sheep, [doomed] to be slaughtered.
Rise that thou sleep, O Lord! Wake up, do not reject forever.
(43-25) Wherefore hidest thou thy face, forgetest our sorrow and our oppression?
(43-26) For our soul is humbled to the dust, our womb is clung to the ground.
th (43-27) Arise, help us, and deliver us for thy mercy.
