You yourself know, brethren, about our entrance to you, that it was not inactive;
But, before they were afflicted and scolded in Philippi, as you know, we dared in our God to teach you the gospel of God with a great feat.
For in our teaching there is neither delusion, nor unclean [impulse], nor guile;
But how God honored us to entrust the gospel to us, so we say, pleasing not to men, but to God who tests our hearts.
For we never had before you a word of caress, as you know, no sort of self-interest: God is witness!
th We do not seek the glory of man either from you or from others:

th We could appear with importance like the Apostles of Christ, but were quiet among you, just as the nurse fondly treats her children.
So we, out of zeal for you, were eager to give you not only the gospel of God, but our souls, because you have become kind to us.
For you remember, brothers, our labor and exhaustion: working night and day, so as not to burden any of you, we preached the gospel of God from you.
Witnesses and God, how holy and righteously and impeccably we acted before you, believers,
eleven Because you know how each of you, like the father of your children,
We asked and urged and pleaded to act worthy of God, who called you into His kingdom and glory.

Therefore, we also thank God unceasingly, that by accepting the spoken word of God from us, you did not take the word of man, but as the word of God, how it is in truth, which works in you believers.
For you, brethren, have become imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus, who are in Judea, because you also suffered the same from your fellow tribesmen, as those of the Jews,
Who killed both the Lord Jesus and His prophets, and they banished us, and do not please God, and are opposed to all people,
Which prevent us from speaking to the Gentiles in order to be saved, and through this they always fill the measure of their sins; But the anger is drawing to the end.

th But we, brethren, having been separated from you for a short time by a face, and not by a heart, so eagerly sought to see your face.
Therefore, we, I Paul, wanted to come to you once or twice, but Satan prevented us.
For who is our hope, or joy, or crown of praise? Are not you also before our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
For you are our glory and joy.
