Seven years old [was] Jehoash when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
And Joash did in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
And Jehoiada took for him two wives, and he had [them] sons and daughters.
And after that came to the heart of Joash to update the house of the LORD,
And he gathered together the priests and Levites and said to them: Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and make haste in this matter. But the Levites hastened it not.
And the king called for Jehoiada the chief [them], and said to him: Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and Jerusalem the tribute, [set] of Moses the servant of the Lord, and the congregation of Israel for the tent of the congregation?
For the wicked Athaliah and her sons have ravaged the house of God, and had dedicated to the Lord's house have used for the Baals.
And the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it at the entrance to the house of the LORD.
And a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection [imposed] by Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
And happy all the princes and all the people, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made.
eleven At that time, when the chest was brought to the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the scribe came to the king and the high priest came and emptied the chest, and took him and put him in his place. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
And they gave it to the king and Jehoiada the workmen in the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, as wrought iron and brass to strengthen the house of the LORD.
And worked manufacturers works, and was perfected by them, and the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.
And ending with [all], they are the king and Jehoiada the rest of Silver. And they made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and [for] burnt offerings, bowls and [other] vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the Lord continually all the days of Jehoiada.

But Jehoiada waxed old and was full of days [of life], died a hundred and thirty years old [was] to him when he died.
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.
But the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king; then the king listened to them.
And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves [dedicated] and idols, --and wrath [of the Lord] upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guilt.
Yet he sent prophets to them to convert them to the Lord, and they testified against them: but they would not listen.
And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Why do ye transgress the commandments of the Lord? It can not prosper; because ye have forsaken the LORD, and he will forsake you.
And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the LORD's house.
And Joash the king remembered not deeds that I have done to him, Behold, his father killed his son. And he's dying to say: yes yes see Lord will punish!
And after a year he opposed the Syrian army, and came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from the people, and all the prey, [taken] from them, and sent to the king of Damascus.
Although a small number of people came to the army of the Syrians, the Lord delivered into their hand very great force because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
and when they went away from him, leaving him in great diseases, they conspired against him his servants, for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and killed him on his bed, and he died. And they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him in the royal tombs.
Conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith Moabitess.
Concerning his sons, and about the many prophecies against him, and the repairing of the house of God which is written in the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
