In Antioch, in the church there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. |

When they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. |

Then after they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they let them go.

So, being sent by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to Cyprus; |

And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; they had also John to their minister. |

Through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, |

who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. Who called for Barnabas and Saul, desired to hear the word of God. |

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. |

But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit and his eyes on him, |

|
And I said, O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, enemy of all righteousness! wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? |

And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately there fell on him a mist and darkness, and he went around seeking a counselor. |

Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord. |

Sailed from Paphos, Paul and those who were with him came to Perga in Pamphylia. John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

They, passing through from Perga, came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. |

After the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak. |

Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God! Listen. |

God of Israel chose our fathers, and the people exalted the people during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm brought them out of it, |

and about forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness. |

And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. |

And after these things, about four hundred and fifty years he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. |

Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin husband. [Because of] forty years. |

When he had removed him, he raised them king David, to whom he also testified, 'I have found man after my heart, David the son of Jesse, which shall fulfill all my will. |

|
Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus. |

|
Before his coming, John preached the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. |
25
|
In fulfilling his course, John said: 'What do you have for me? I'm not the one; but behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes I am not worthy to loose on the feet. |

|
Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and ye that fear God among you! to you the word of this salvation. |
27
|
For the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their rulers, not knowing him, and the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath, |

|
And though they found no cause of death, they asked Pilate to kill him. |

|
When they had fulfilled all that was written about him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher. |

But God raised him from the dead. |

And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people. |

And we bring you good news that the promise made to the fathers, God has fulfilled to us their children, raising up Jesus, |

as it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, today I have begotten you. |

|
And that raised him from the dead, so that he will not return to corruption, [of these things] said: I'll give you mercy [promised] of David. |
35
|
Wherefore also in another [place] says: Do not let your Holy One to see corruption. |

|
David, after he had served the counsel of God, fell asleep and with his fathers, and saw corruption; |
37
|
But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. |
38
|
So, let it be known to you, brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins; |
39
|
and in all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses, is justified by him all that believe. |
40
|
Beware therefore, lest that come upon you which is spoken in the prophets: |
41
|
Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you will not believe if someone told you.

|
And when the synagogue of the Jews from the Gentiles asked them to talk about the next sabbath. |
43
|
Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and chtiteli [God], Gentile converts followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. |

The next Sabbath almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. |

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and contradicted and speaking evil, opposed to what Paul said. |

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said, you first had to speak the word of God, but since you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. |
47
|
For thus the Lord commanded us: I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. |
48
|
Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the LORD, and believed as many as were ordained to eternal life. |
49
|
And the word of the Lord spread throughout the country. |
50
|
But the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the first in the city [people], and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their borders. |
51
|
But they shook off the dust from their feet, came to Iconium. |
52
|
And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. |
