After this, Paul, leaving Athens, came to Corinth; |

And finding a certain Jew named Aquila, a native of the Pontus, who had recently come from Italy, and Priscilla, his wife, - because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to withdraw from Rome, - he came to them; |

On the Sabbath he spoke in the synagogue and persuaded Jews and Greeks. |

And when Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was forced to testify to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. |

A certain Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, a man eloquent and versed in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. |

He was instructed in the firstfruits of the way of the Lord and, burning with the spirit, spoke and taught about the Lord correctly, knowing only the baptism of John. |

He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. Hearing him, Aquila and Priscilla took him and explained him the way of the Lord more accurately. |

And when he was determined to go to Achaia, then the brethren were sent to [the local] disciples, having them accept him; And he, having arrived there, contributed greatly to believing grace, |

For he strongly refuted the Jews publicly, proving by the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. |
