And the whole congregation of the children of Israel moved from the wilderness of Sin to their way, according to the commandment of the Lord, and pitched in Rephidim, and there was no water to drink to the people. |

And the people rebuked Moses, and said, "Give us water to drink." And Moses said to them, Why are you reproaching me? Why tempt the Lord? |

And the people thirsted there for water, and the people murmured against Moses, saying: Why did you bring us out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our herds with thirst? |

Moses cried to the Lord and said: "What shall I do with this people?" A little more, and they will stone me. |

And the Lord said to Moses, Go before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel, and your rod that you struck on the water take in your hand, and go; |

Behold, I will stand before thee there on the rock in Horeb, and thou shalt strike the rock, and water shall go out of it, and drink the people. And Moses did so in the eyes of the elders of Israel. |

And he called the place a name: Massa and Meribah, because of the reproach of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying: Is the Lord among us, or not?

And the Amalekites came and fought with the Israelites in Rephidim. |

Moses said to Jesus, "Choose us men, and go, fight with the Amalekites; Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill, and the rod of God will be in my hand. |

And Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and he fought against the Amalekites; And Moses and Aaron and Ohr went up to the top of the hill. |

And Moses built an altar, and called his name Jehovah Nishi. |

For, he said, the hand is on the throne of the Lord: war against the Lord against Amalek from generation to generation. |
