Ezekiel 24

And the word of the LORD came to me in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month:
Son of man! Write down the name of this day, this very day: on this very day the king of Babylon will approach Jerusalem.
And say a parable to the rebellious house, and say to them: Thus says the Lord Jehovah: Set the cauldron, set it and pour water into it;
Put pieces of meat in it, all the best pieces, hips and shoulders, and fill with selected bones;
Select the best sheep, and [bake] the bones under it, and boil so that the bones also boil in it.
th Therefore thus says the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! Woe to the cauldron, in which there is a scum and from which its scum does not come off! A piece after a piece of it is thrown out of it, not choosing by lot.
th For his blood is in his midst; He left her on a bare rock; He did not shed it to the ground, where it could become covered with dust.
To arouse anger to commit vengeance, I left his blood on a bare rock so that she would not hide.
Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city! And I will lay out a great fire.
Add firewood, divide the fire, boil the meat; Let it all thicken, and the bones will burn.
eleven And when the cauldron is empty, put it on the coals, so that it burns, and that its copper is heated, and its impurity is melted in it, and all its scum disappears.
Work will be difficult; But a great scum of it will not come down from him; And his scum shall be in the fire.
In your uncleanness such an abomination that, no matter how much I cleanse you, you are all unclean; From your uncleanness you will not be cleansed again, until I have filled My fury with you.
I am the Lord, I say: it will come and I will do it; I will not and will not repent, and I will not have mercy. According to your ways and according to your works, they will judge you, says the Lord God.

And the word of the Lord came to me:
Son of man! Behold, I will take from you the plague of the joy of your eyes; But do not complain and do not cry, and let not tears come from you;
th Sigh in silence, do not cry for the dead; But bind yourselves with a bandage and shoe your feet on your shoes, and do not cover your beards, and do not eat bread from strangers.
And after I spoke a word to the people in the morning, my wife died in the evening, and the next day I did as I was commanded.
And the people said to me, Will you not tell us, what is the significance for us in what you do?
And I said to them, "The word of the Lord came to me:
Say to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will give my sanctuary for the reproach, the power of your strength, the joy of your eyes and the delight of your soul; but your sons and your daughters whom you have left will fall by the sword.
And you will do what I did; You will not cover your beards, and you will not eat bread from strangers;
And your headbands will be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet; You will not mourn and weep, but you will faint from your sins and sigh one to another.
And Ezekiel shall be to you a sign: all that he did, and you will do; And when it is fulfilled, you will know that I am the Lord God.
And as for you, son of man, on that day, when I take from them the ornament of their glory, the joy of their eyes and the consolation of their souls, their sons and their daughters,
th In that day the one who escaped [from there] will come to you to deliver a message in your ears.
th On that day, in this case, your mouth will be opened, and you will speak, and you will not be silent anymore, and you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord.
