And he said to me, "Son of man!" You eat that before you, eat this scroll, and go, tell the house of Israel. |
2
Then I opened my mouth, and He gave me to eat this scroll; |
3
And he said to me: Son of man! Nourish your belly and fill your bowels with this scroll that I give you; And I ate, and it was sweet in my mouth, like honey. |
4
And He said to me, "Son of man!" Arise, and go unto the house of Israel, and speak unto them in my words; |
5
Because not to the people with a vague and incomprehensible language you are sent, but to the house of Israel, |
6th
Not to many peoples with an indistinct speech and with an incomprehensible language, which you would not understand words; Yes, if I sent you and them, they would obey you; |
7th
But the house of Israel will not listen to you; Because they do not want to listen to Me, because the whole house of Israel has a strong forehead and a cruel heart. |
8
Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their forehead. |
9
Like a diamond that is stronger than a stone, I have made your forehead; Do not be afraid of them, and do not fear before their faces, for they are a rebellious house. |
10
And he said to me, "Son of man!" All my words that I will speak to you, receive with your heart, and hear with your ears; |
eleven
Arise, and go unto them that are moved, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God. Whether they will listen, or will not. |
12
And the spirit lifted me up; And I heard behind me a great thundering voice: "Blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place!" |
13
And also the noise of the wings of the animals touching one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of strong thunder. |
14
And the spirit lifted me, and took me. And I walked in grief, with an alarmed spirit; And the hand of the Lord was strong upon me. |
15
And I came to those who were moved to Tel Aviv, living by the river Chebar, and stopped where they lived, and spent among them seven days in amazement.
16
At the end of seven days the word of the Lord came to me: |
17th
Son of man! I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel, and you will listen to the word from my mouth, and you will instruct them from me. |
18
When I say unto the wicked: Thou shalt surely die, and thou shalt not instruct him, and speak, to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he liveth: then the unrighteous shall die in his iniquity; and I will seek his blood at thy hand. |
19
But if you admonish the wicked, and he does not turn from his lawlessness and from his lawless way, he will die in his lawlessness, and you will save your soul. |
20
And if the righteous turn from his righteousness and do evil, when I put a stumbling block before him, and he dies, then if you did not instruct him, he would die for his sin, and his righteous deeds which he did not remember him; And I will take his blood from your hands. |
21
But if thou wilt teach the righteous, lest the righteous sin, and he sinneth, then he also shall live, because he was warned, and thou hast delivered thy soul.
22
And there was upon me there the hand of the Lord, and He said to me: Arise and go forth into the field, and I will speak there with thee. |
23
And I arose, and went out into the field; And behold, there the glory of the LORD stood, as the glory which I saw at the river Chebar; And I fell on my face. |
24
And a spirit entered into me, and set me on my feet, and He spoke to me, and said to me: "Go and shut yourself in your house." |
25
And you, son of man, - here, they will lay hold on you, and they will bind you with them, and you will not walk among them. |
26th
And I will cling your tongue to your larynx, and you will numb, and you will not be a rebuke to them, for they are a rebellious house. |
27th
And when I speak with thee, then I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God. Who wants to listen, listen; But whoever does not want to listen, do not listen: for they are a rebellious house. |
