The children of Israel continued to do evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years. |

At that time there was a man from Zorah, from the tribe of Dan, named Manoah; His wife was barren and did not give birth. |
3
And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman, and said to her, "Behold, you are barren and do not give birth; But you will conceive and bear a son; |
4
So beware, do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean; |
5
For behold, you conceive and bear a son, and the razor will not touch his head, for from this very womb this child will be a Nazarite, and he will begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines. |

And the woman came and said to her husband, The man of God came to me, whose appearance, like the appearance of an angel of God, was very respectable; I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tell me his name; |
7th
He said to me: 'Behold, you will conceive and bear a son; So do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean, for the infant from the very womb to his death will be the Nazarite of God. "

Manoah prayed to the Lord and said: "Lord!" May the man of God whom You sent us again come to us and teach us what to do with the baby who is born. |
9
And God heard the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God came to his wife again, when she was in the field, and Manoy, her husband, was not with her. |
10
His wife immediately ran and informed her husband and said to him: behold, a man appeared to me, who came to me then. |

Manoah got up and went with his wife, and came to that man and said to him: "Are you the man who spoke with this woman?" [The angel] said: I am. |
12
And Manoah said: So if your word is fulfilled, how shall we deal with this child and what should we do with it? |
13
The angel of the Lord said to Manoy: let him beware of all that I told my wife; |
14
Let him not eat anything that produces the vine; Let him not drink wine and strong drink, and eat no unclean thing, and observe all that I have commanded her.
15
And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord: let me hold you while we make a kid for you. |
16
The angel of the Lord said to Manoah, "Though you would restrain me, I will not eat your bread; If you want to offer a burnt offering to the Lord, then lift it up. Manoah did not know that it was the Angel of the Lord. |
17th
And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, What is your name? That we may glorify you when your word is fulfilled. |
18
The angel of the Lord said to him, "What do you ask of my name?" It is wonderful. |
19
And Manoah took a kid and a grain offering, and offered it to the Lord on a rock. And He made the miracle that Manoah and his wife saw. |
20
When the flame began to rise from the altar to heaven, the Angel of the Lord rose in the flame of the altar. Seeing this, Manoy and his wife fell face to face. |
21
And the angel of the Lord was invisible to Mano and his wife. Then Manoah found out that it was the Angel of the Lord. |
22
And Manoah said to his wife, We will surely die, for we have seen God. |
23
His wife said to him, "If the Lord wanted to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, and he would not have shown us all that, and now he would not have revealed this to us."
24
And the woman gave birth to a son, and she called his name Samson. And the baby grew, and the Lord blessed him. |
25
And the Spirit of the Lord began to work in him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol. |
