There was one on Mount Ephraim, named Micha.
He said to his mother: one thousand and one hundred [shekels] of silver, which are taken from you, and for which you cursed me, this is my silver; I took it. His mother said: Blessed is my son with the Lord!
And he returned to his mother a thousand and one hundred shekels of silver. And his mother said: This is the silver I dedicated from myself to the Lord for my son, to make from him a graven image and a molten idol; Now I give it to you.
But he returned the silver to his mother. His mother took two hundred [shekels] of silver and gave them to the smelter. He made of them a graven image and a molten idol, which was in Miha's house.
And Miha had a house of God. And he made an ephod and a teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, that he should be his priest.
th In those days there was no king in Israel; Everyone did what he thought was just.

th One young man from Bethlehem of Judah, of the tribe of Judah, a Levite, then lived there;
This man went from the city of Bethlehem of Judah to live where he happened, and walking on the road, he came to the mountain of Ephraim to the house of Micah.
And Micah said to him, "Where are you coming from?" He said to him, "I am a Levite from Bethlehem of Judah, and I go and live where it will be."
And Micah said to him, "Stay with me, and be a father and a priest to me; I will give you ten shekels of silver for a year, a suit of apparel and food.
eleven The Levite went to him and agreed to a Levite to stay with this man, and he had a young man as one of his sons.
Micah dedicated the Levite, and this young man was his priest and lived in the house of Micah.
And Micah said: Now I know that the Lord will do me good, because he is a priest to me.
