And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said: |
2
how can a man be profitable to God? Reasonable profitable unto himself. |
3
What a pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? And if he will benefit from that, that thou makest thy ways perfect? |
4
Is he afraid of you, take with you into the contest, go to sue you?
5
Is not thy wickedness great, and thine iniquities. |
6
Thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for naught, and stripped the naked of their clothing. |
7
Weary thirst not given water to drink and hungry withheld bread; |
8
a mighty man [gave] the earth; and the honorable man dwelt in it. |
9
Thou hast sent widows with nothing and orphans left empty-handed. |
10
For the loop around you, and sudden fear troubleth thee, |
eleven
Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and abundance of waters cover you. |
12
Is not God above the heavens? Look up at the stars, how high they are! |
13
And you say, What does God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? |
14
The clouds - a covering to him, so that he does not see, and he walks [only] the celestial circle.
15
Have you marked the old way by which wicked men, |
16
that prematurely were destroyed when the water overflowed, whose foundation? |
17
They said to God, Depart from us! and that will make them the Almighty? |
18
Yet he filled their houses with good. But the counsel of the wicked be far from me! |
19
The righteous see it and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn: |
20
our enemy is destroyed, and the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
21
Acquaint now thyself with Him - and be at peace; thereby good shall come unto thee. |
22
Accept the law from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. |
23
If you return to the Almighty, be built up, you take away the iniquity of thy tent |
24
and thou shalt lay in ashes shiny metal and stones in streams - [gold] Ophir. |
25
And the Almighty will be your gold and shiny silver from you, |
26
For then you will delight in the Almighty and lift up your face to God. |
27
Prayer to him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. |
28
Put intent, and it will take you, and on the ways of thy light shall shine. |
29
When someone is afflicted, you say the rise! and he will save the humble presence, |
thirty
deliver and nebezvinnogo, and he saved the purity of your hands. |
