Joel 3

Previous chapter Index

For, behold, in those days and at the same time that I will bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all the nations, and bring them to the valley of Jehoshaphat, and there I will execute judgment upon them for my people and for my heritage, Israel, which they scattered among the nations, and they divided my land.
And they cast lots for my people, and gave the young man for a harlot, and sold the damsel for wine, and drank.
And what are you to Me, Tire and Sidon, and all the districts of the Philistines? Do you want to repay me? Do you want to repay Me? It is easy and soon I will turn your recompence on your heads,
Because you took my money and my gold, and brought your best jewels into your houses,
th And the sons of Judah and the sons of Jerusalem sold to the sons of the Greeks, to remove them from their borders.
th Behold, I will lift them from the place where you sold them, and I will turn your reward on your head.
And I will give your sons and your daughters into the hands of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a people far off; So the Lord said.

Proclaim this among the nations, prepare for war, stir up the brave; Let them perform, all the workers will rise up.
Perekuste your plowshares on swords and your sickles on spears; Let the weak say, "I am strong."
eleven Hasten and converge, all the peoples around, and gather; There, Lord, lead Your heroes.
Let the nations be lifted up and descend into the valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit down to judge all the nations from everywhere.
Put sickles into action, for the harvest has ripened; Go, come down, for the winepress is full and the tidings are poured, because their wickedness is great.
Crowds, crowds in the valley of the court! For the day of the Lord is near to the valley of judgment!
The sun and moon will fade and the stars will lose their luster.
And the LORD will roar from Zion, and shall utter his voice from Jerusalem; The sky and earth will shake; But the Lord will be a protection for His people and a defense for the sons of Israel.
th Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, dwelling in Zion, in my holy mountain; And Jerusalem shall be holy, and no strangers shall pass through it.

And it shall come to pass on that day: the mountains shall drip with wine, and the hills shall flow with milk; and all the rivers of Judaea shall be filled with water, and the fountain shall come out of the house of the Lord, and water the valley of Sittim.
Egypt will become a wilderness and Edom will be an empty steppe - because they oppressed the sons of Judah and shed innocent blood in their land.
And Judah will live forever and Jerusalem - in the birth of birth.
I will wash away their blood, which I have not washed away yet, and the Lord will dwell in Zion.
