In the first [day] of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone was rolled away from the sepulcher.
So she came running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him.
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulcher.
They both ran together; but the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.
And he stooping down, saw the linen clothes lying; but it was not included [in the tomb].
Behind him came Simon Peter, and went into the sepulcher, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
and the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place.
Then I went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulcher, and he saw and believed.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
Then the disciples went away again to themselves.

eleven But Mary stood at the tomb weeping. And she wept, she bent over into the tomb,
and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
And they say to her, Woman! Why are you crying? He says they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing; and I knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus said to her wife! Why are you crying? who are looking for? She, thinking it was the gardener, saith unto him, Sir! if you have carried Him away, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him.
Jesus saith unto her, Mary! She turned and said to Him, Rabboni! --What means: Teacher!
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to My brethren and say to them: I ascend to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples [that] have seen the Lord, and [that] he is said to her.

On the same evening, the first day of the week, when the doors [the house], where the disciples were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you!
Having said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The disciples rejoiced to see the Lord.
Jesus said to them again: Peace be with you! as the Father has sent me, [so] I send you.
Having said this, he breathed on them and said: Receive the Holy Spirit.
If you forgive the sins, they are forgiven; on whom leave, they are retained.
Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

And after eight days again were his disciples in the house, and Thomas was with them. Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in their midst and said: Peace be with you!
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.
Thomas said to him: My Lord and my God!
Jesus said to him: You believe because you have seen me; blessed are not seen and yet have believed.
thirty Jesus did many of his disciples and other miracles which are not written in this book.
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
