The whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered in Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there, for the earth was subdued by them.
2
Of the sons of Israel, there remained seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. |
3
And Jesus said unto the children of Israel, How long will ye be undefiled to go and inherit the land which the LORD God of your fathers has given you? |
4
Give three men from the tribe; I will send them, and they will rise up on the ground and describe it, as it is necessary to divide them into allotments, and they will come to me; |
5
Let them divide it into seven portions; Judas shall remain in the border in the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in the limit in the north; |
6th
And you will paint the earth in seven portions and present to me here: I will cast lots for you here before the Lord our God; |
7th
But the Levites have no part among you, for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance; And Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them. |
8
These people got up and went. And Jesus going to describe the land gave such an order: go, go around the earth, describe it and come back to me; And I will cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh. |
9
They went, walked on the earth, and described it, according to its cities, into the seven destinies, in the book, and came to Jesus in the camp, in Shiloh. |
10
Jesus cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD, and there he divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.

[The first] lot came out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families. Their border was drawn by lot between the sons of Judah and between the sons of Joseph; |
12
Their border on the north side begins at the Jordan, and the border passes this near Jericho from the north, and ascends to the mountain to the west, and ends in the wilderness of Bethaven; |
13
From there the border goes to Luza, to the south side of Luza, or to Bethel, and the border to Atarof-Adar descends, to the mountain that is on the south side of Beth-Oron lower; |
14
Then the boundary turns and leans toward the sea side south of the mountain that is in the south to Beth-Oron, and ends at Kiriath-Baal, or Kiriath-jearim, the city of the sons of Judah. This is the western side. |
15
On the south side of Kirjath-jearim there is a boundary to the sea, and reaches the source of the waters of Nephtoach; |
16
Then the boundary descends to the end of the mountain, which is before the valley of the son of Hinnom, in the valley of Rephaim, to the north, and comes down the valley of Hinnom to the south side of Jebus, and goes to En-Rogel; |
17th
Then he turns from the north and goes to En-Shemesh, and goes to Geliloh, who is against the hill of Adumimm, and descends to the stone of Bogan, the son of Reuben; |
18
Then it passes near the plain to the north and descends to the plain; |
19
From here passes the limit near Beth-Hogly to the north, and the limit ends at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. Here is the southern limit. On the eastern side, Jordan serves as the limit. |
