And the Lord said to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the second year after they came forth out of the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying: |
2
let the children of Israel keep the passover at the appointed time for her: |
3
on the fourteenth day of this month in the evening keep it at the appointed time for it, according to all its statutes and all its ordinances commit it. |
4
And Moses said unto the children of Israel to keep the passover. |
5
And they kept the passover in the first [month], on the fourteenth day of the month in the evening, in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel. |
6
There were people who were unclean from [touch] the dead body of a man, and could not keep the passover on that day; and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day, |
7
and told him the people: We are unclean by [touch] the dead body of a man; wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? |
8
And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. |
9
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying: |
10
Speak unto the children of Israel, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by [touch] the dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover of the Lord; |
eleven
on the fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it; |
12

They shall leave none of it until morning, and a bone of it nor break; let him keep it, according to all the ordinances of the passover; |

On the day the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tent of the testimony, and in the evening upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. |
16
So it was always: the cloud covered it [by day], and the appearance of fire by night. |
17
And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then the children of Israel journeyed, and at the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel encamped. |
18
At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: a time when the cloud abode over the tabernacle, and they stood; |
19
And when the cloud was long upon the tabernacle, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not; |
20
when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle: for the commandment of the LORD they stayed, and on the instructions of the Lord they journeyed; |
21
Sometimes the cloud abode [only] from evening until morning, and in the morning the cloud, then they journeyed; day or by night that the cloud was taken up, then they journeyed |
22
or if two days or a month or a few days that the cloud was over the tabernacle, the children of Israel were, and journeyed not; and when it was taken up, they journeyed; |
23
on the orders of the Lord stopped, and on the instructions of the Lord they journeyed: they kept the instructions of the Lord according to the commandment of the LORD [given] by Moses. |
