Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with bishops and deacons: |
2
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3
I thank my God with every memory of you, |
4
Always in every prayer of mine for all of you bringing with joy my prayer, |
5
For your participation in the gospel from the first day until now, |
6th
Being sure that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it even before the day of Jesus Christ,
7th
As I ought to think of all of you, because I have you in my heart in my bonds, in the defense and affirmation of the gospel, of you all, as partakers of mine in grace. |
8
God is a witness that I love you all with the love of Jesus Christ;
9
And I pray that your love will grow more and more in knowledge and all feeling, |
10
That, knowing the best, you were pure and unbroken in the day of Christ, |
eleven
Full of the fruits of righteousness by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
12
I desire, brethren, that ye may know that my circumstances have served the greater success of the gospel, |
13
So that my bonds about Christ became known throughout the praetorium and all the rest, |
14
And most of the brethren in the Lord, encouraged by my bonds, began with greater boldness, fearlessly preaching the word of God. |
15
Some, however, by envy and strife, and others with a good disposition preach Christ. |
16
Some people preach Christ not purposely by preaching, thinking to increase the weight of my bonds; |
17th
And others - out of love, knowing that I am set to protect the gospel. |
18
But what about that? No matter how much Christ preached, feigned or sincere, I rejoice in that and will rejoice, |
19
For I know that it will serve me for salvation by your prayer and by the assistance of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, |
20
With my confidence and hope that I will not be ashamed of anything, but with every boldness, and now, as always, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
21
For to me life is Christ, and death is gain. |
22
If life in the flesh [produces] the fruit of my work, then I do not know what to choose. |
23
It attracts me both: I have a desire to be resolved and to be with Christ, because it is incomparably better; |
24
But to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you. |
25
And I truly know that I will stay and remain with you all for your success and joy in faith, |
26th
That your praise be in Christ Jesus might be increased through me, in my second coming to you.
27th
Only live worthy of the gospel of Christ, that I, whether I come and see you, or not come, hear of you that you stand in one spirit, striving unanimously for the faith of the Gospel, |
28
And do not be afraid of anything enemies: this is for them an omen of perdition, and for you - salvation. And this is of God, |
29
Because you are given for Christ's sake not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him |
thirty
The same feat as you saw in me and now you hear about me. |
