So I ask: Has God rejected His people? No way. For I am also an Israelite, from the seed of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. |
2
God did not reject His people, which He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he complains to God against Israel, saying: |
3
Lord! Your prophets were killed, your altars destroyed; I am left alone, and my soul is being sought. |
4
What does God's answer tell him? I kept to myself seven thousand people who did not kneel before Baal. |
5
So at the present time, according to the election of grace, there is a remnant. |
6th
But if by grace, then not by works; Otherwise grace would not be grace. And if by deeds, then it is no longer grace; Otherwise the matter is not already the matter. |
7th
What? Israel, what I was looking for, I did not receive; Elected and received, while others became bitter, |
8
As it is written: God gave them a spirit of euthanasia, eyes that they do not see, and ears that they do not hear, even to this day. |
9
And David says: Let their table be with a snare, with snares and a noose, as a reward to them; |
10
Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and let their back be bent forever. |
eleven
So I ask: Did they stumble to fall? No way. But from their fall, the salvation of the Gentiles in order to arouse jealousy in them. |
12
If their fall is wealth to the world, and their impoverishment is wealth to the Gentiles, how much more is their fullness. |
13
To you I say to the Gentiles. As an apostle of the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry. |
14
Will not I stir up jealousy in my kinsfolk according to the flesh and will I save some of them? |
15
For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what is [acceptance], if not life from the dead? |
16
If the firstfruits are holy, then the whole; And if the root is holy, then the branches. |
17th
If some of the branches are broken off, and you, a wild olive, were planted in their place and became a partaker of the root and juice of the olive tree, |
18
Then do not be arrogant before the branches. If you are exalted, [then] [remember that] you do not hold the root, but the root of you. |
19
You say, "The branches broke off, so that I could be planted." |
20
Good. They broke off with unbelief, and you hold on to faith: do not be proud, but be afraid. |
21
For if God did not spare the natural branches, then see if he will spare you. |
22
So you see the goodness and severity of God: severity to those who have fallen away, but goodness to you, if you continue in goodness [of God]; Otherwise you will be cut off. |
23
But even if they do not abide in unbelief, they will be grafted, because God is able to inculcate them again. |
24
For if you are cut off from a wild olive by nature and not by nature brought to a good olive tree, the more so these natural ones will be grafted to their olive tree. |
25
For I do not want to leave you, brethren, in ignorance of this mystery, that you should not dream of yourself, that bitterness occurred in Israel in part, until the full number of the Gentiles; |
26th
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, and turn away the wickedness from Jacob." |
27th
And this is their covenant with me, when I will take away their sins from them. |
28
In regard to the gospel, they are enemies for you; But in relation to election, beloved [God's] for the sake of the fathers. |
29
For the gifts and calling of God are immutable. |
thirty
As you once were disobedient to God, and now you are pardoned, by their disobedience, |
31
So they are now disobedient to pardon you, so that they themselves may be pardoned. |
32
For God has made all to disobedience, to have mercy on all.
33
O, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments and His ways are unsearchable! |
34
For who knew the mind of the Lord? Or who was his counselor? |
35
Or who gave Him beforehand, that He should repay? |
36
For from Him, through Him, and to Him. To Him be glory for ever, Amen. |
