8. Documentation for RCDs

The set of technical documentation for the RCD should include:

  1. Certificate for compliance with GOST R 50807-95 "Devices for protection, controlled by differential (residual) current, General requirements and test methods".
  2. Certificate for compliance with the norms of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia NPB243-97 "Devices of protective shutdown - Requirements for fire safety - Test methods".
  3. Passport (instruction manual) on the RCD with the address and telephone number of the manufacturer, stamp of the OTK, date of manufacture, a mark on the sale, indication of the warranty period.

The factory accompanying technical documentation (technical passport or operating instructions) and the RCD marking shall contain the following information on the technical parameters of the devices:

  • Method and place of installation;
  • Number of poles;
  • Rated voltage U n ;
  • Rated load current I n ;
  • Rated breaking differential current (setpoint) I D n ;
  • Rated non-closing differential current I D n0 ;
  • Rated breaking time T n ;
  • Nominal short-circuit rated current I nc ;
  • Limiting value of non-switching overcurrent I nm ;
  • Rated switching and breaking capacity (switching capacity) I m ;
  • Rated switching and breaking capacity of the differential current I D m ;
  • Nominal nominal differential short-circuit current I D c ;
  • Recommended circuits for the inclusion of RCD in electrical installations of buildings.

The energy supervision authorities, when considering the design of an electrical installation, pay special attention to the types of RCDs laid down by the project, and in case of non-compliance they return the project documentation for processing.

When receiving an electrical installation, the energy inspector must ensure that the RCDs provided by the project are actually installed and that all the necessary technical documentation is available for these RCDs. Otherwise, the electrical installation of the building is not accepted for operation, before installing RCDs that have the necessary certificates.
