The project began as a weekly hour program on one of Moscow's network radio stations. It happened in 2004. And in the summer of 2005 a radio with a strange name "ONLIGHT" appeared on the Internet. None of the founders of the radio station thought about the prospects, so everything was like an exciting game for adults. Over time, the composition of the project participants seriously increased, the author's programs were launched from FM broadcast professionals, musicians, journalists and talented DJs. There appeared the author's programs of Ivan Great (Elements), Tim Svodnik (TGI Monday), Kirill Breeze (Izmereniya), Sergey Placid (MicroSphere), Tim Traum and Alexei Shimbo (Ambione), Duo Technoid & Sub (Slushibar) representing Mixmag.info , Grigory Fatyanov, participant of the project Grigory & Anthony (Connection), Alexander Bytefish (Tripo Dabs, Reflect), Aslan Gulia aka DJ AG (Mental Mood), Ruslana Nosova aka DJ RUS (Theory of Soul and Sound) and Artem Potemkin (On the Drum!) . In September 2007, the radio changed its name to a more international 16BIT.FM. For the radio show the radio studio 16BIT FM was provided with professional dj and musical equipment. During the broadcasts, a video broadcast is started. A wide channel for Internet broadcasting is provided by one of the largest Internet providers in Russia. In autumn 2008, 16BIT.FM launched an additional 3 channels with music of various directions, without interrupting the main (MAIN) channel, which includes all the most interesting of all the abundance of modern electronics.
Additional channels, CLUB (Dance Music), CAFÉ (Lounge & Chill) and IDEA (Intelligent Digital Experimental Atmosphere) expand the boundaries of radio for gourmet electronic music and not only.
