Plasma - pulse method of reconstructing the picture tubes

Radio components, like everything in this world, are subject to aging. This process also applies to kinescopes. In the tube, during its long operation, a slag is formed on the cathode, it is very difficult to remove it by the traditional method using a spark discharge.

The scheme presented here allows more efficiently to cope with this problem. In this technological solution, a plasma-pulse method for reconstructing a kinescope is used.

The scheme works as follows

On the cathode of the tube, relative to the modulator, short impulses of a voltage of 2 kHz, a duty cycle of the meander type, an amplitude of 300 V are applied. The voltage on the glow of the kinescope during the restoration is first about 8V (about 5 bursts of pulses), then 6.3V (about 5-6 bursts of pulses of 3 seconds). The process can be observed through the throat of the kinescope (a red-yellow glow in the cathode-modulator zone is formed Restored cannon). I have successfully tested this recovery method, it is effective in most cases of recovery.

When working with the device, do not forget the safety rules!
