RECEIVING ELECTRICITY FROM EXCTREMENTS

A purification plant that produces electricity. On this project, according to the British scientific journal New Scientist, scientists from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) work. More specifically, they are developing a fuel cell that can "digest" feces.

Following in the footsteps of his colleagues from the Georgia Institute of Technology (where they are trying to create a robot powered by plant food waste), scientists from Pennsylvania have built a battery in which microbes that feed on excrement produce electricity and, at the same time, compost.

Today, the first example of a new product is already demonstrating its capabilities. Its power is still only 51 kilowatts (this is enough to light 850 bulbs ). Of course, this is very slightly for a city with a population of 100,000 , but scientists expect in a few years to achieve that the new technology is profitable.
