The invention relates to medicine, particularly to pharmacology and dermatology. A new method for the treatment of fungal nail infections (onychomycosis), for the first time includes a bath 0.1-0.25% solution of didecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) at a temperature not higher than 30 o C. The method allows to optimally combine and utilize the properties of heat-treated structure of the nail and the skin without compromising DDAB activity. The invention allows to reduce the treatment time and reduce the complexity of treatments.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to medicine, in particular to the treatment of fungal diseases.

Fungal nail diseases are difficult to treat, can not completely heal and after a while give relapses. Laboratory control cure is difficult and time-consuming. Therefore, great importance of the use of medical procedures that ensure high efficiency of treatment and above all the use of the most active fungicidal agents.

A method of treating nails comprising applying a varnish Batrafen thin layer to the affected nail plate with a brush with continuing treatment for 6 months in the control treatment efficacy adhesive millimeter film followed by mycological studies (Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1998, 7 (3), with . 87).

The known method is not sufficiently effective in killing fungal infections and unnecessarily time-consuming and laborious.

The closest to the claimed one is a method of treatment of onychomycosis comprising pretreatment to remove sawing nail fungus infected areas of nails wiping with isopropyl alcohol, applying a varnish which 5% Lotseril plating Lotseril 0.25% cream to the skin area with fungal infection by repeating Step 1 once a week until regrowth of healthy nail plate and controlling the effect of exposure for 6 months (Russian journal of skin and venereal diseases, 1998, 2, p. 53).

The known method is laborious in terms of preparatory operations, is not sufficiently effective, and time-consuming, requires the use of environmentally harmful isopropyl alcohol.

Object of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of the treatment of fungal nail diseases, reduction of treatment terms, reducing the complexity of treatments.

The problem is solved by a method for the treatment of onychomycosis, providing for the provisional hydrothermal treatment of nails in the form of hot baths or compresses, followed by medicinal baths, according to the invention, the latter is carried out 0.1-0.25% solution deditsildimetilammony bromide (DDAB) at a temperature not exceeding 30 o C.

Distinctive features of the prototype are:

- Implementation of therapeutic baths with 0.1-0.25% DDAB solution that improves the efficiency of the antifungal effects and the therapeutic effect, shorten treatment time, to avoid difficult and often painful preparatory operations (DDAB content below 0.1% is ineffective, higher than 0, 25% may cause skin irritation);

- Bath DDAB performed at a temperature not higher than 30 o C, which allows to optimally combine the properties and use of heat-treated structure of the nail and skin, and, on the other hand, do not significantly reduce the activity of DDAB (the latter at a temperature above 30 o C loses antifungal activity).

Example 1. His foot from the infected nail plate was placed in water at 50-55 o C and after aging for 10 minutes was transferred into a bath of 0.10% solution of didecyldimethylammonium bromide. After incubation for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 20-23 o C. The procedure is completed by rinsing under running water residue solution.

The procedure was repeated daily for 6-9 days, then was mycological investigation. The criterion for cure was considered the absence of the pathogen in the nail plate. If necessary, a second course of treatment after 20 days.

Example 2. Hands, with the affected nail plate was placed in water at 45-55 o C, and after holding for 8-10 minutes, transferred to a bath of 0.17% didecyldimethylammonium bromide. After incubation for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 22-25 o C completed the flushing process residues under running water solution with a temperature of 6-10 o C.

The procedure was repeated daily for 6-9 days. If necessary, a second course of treatment after 20 days.

Example 3. Placed his foot in the water with a temperature of 55-60 o C, briefly raising the temperature up to the pain threshold level (70-75 o C) and transferred to a bath of 0.25% solution of didecyldimethylammonium bromide. After incubation for 10-15 minutes at a temperature of 25-30 o C. The procedure is completed by rinsing with cold water residue solution with a temperature of 8-12 o C.

The procedure was repeated daily for 6-9 days, a second treatment after 20 days if necessary.

A method for treating fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) has shown high efficiency of treatment of fungal diseases of the nails caused by various groups of parasitic fungi and different durations of disease before treatment. Reduced effort as the preparatory procedures and the treatment itself can reduce the cost of the work, increase the number of patients served by one medical institution.

CLAIM

1. A method of treating nail fungal infections (onychomycosis) providing preliminary hydrothermally treated nails with subsequent hydrothermal bath, characterized in that the treatment baths do with 0.1-0.25% solution of didecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB).

2. A method according to claim 1, characterized in that a bath with a solution of dodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) is carried out at a temperature not higher than 30 o C.
