POSTULATION OF RELATIVITY
(GALILEI, POUNCARE, ENSTEIN)

The principle of relativity in physics is called the so-called. A postulate of relativity that affirms the equality ( physical equality ) of all inertial systems, and the principle of covariance, which affirms the identical description of physical laws in these inertial systems by coordinates associated with certain transformations.

The equality of inertial systems means: "Under the same initial conditions, a mechanical experiment yields the same results both in a stationary (stationary) laboratory and in a laboratory moving inertially relative to a stationary laboratory." (G. Galilei), "The laws of physical phenomena must be the same for a fixed The observer, and for the observer moving rectilinearly and evenly, because we do not have the opportunity to see whether we are participating in such a movement or not. "(A. Poincaré)" Laws that change the states of physical systems do not depend on , To which of the two coordinate systems that move uniformly and rectilinearly relative to each other, these changes in state are "(Einstein). (Einstein means all the laws of physics , and not only the laws of mechanics , as in Galileo.) The term coordinate systems Here it is used in the sense of the frame of reference).

The postulate of Galileo's relativity plus the covariance of Galileo's transformations is called Galileo's relativity principle. The postulate of Einstein's relativity plus the covariance of the Lorentz transformations is called the Einstein relativity principle (in the narrow sense).

I draw attention to one important circumstance in the formulation of the postulates of relativity: an observer making experiments and measurements in a stationary or moving frame of reference is physically located in these frames of reference.

I will formulate further the postulate of relativity (Einstein or Galileo) in the following form (the meaning of such a formulation will become clear after):

The observer, knowing the laws of physics and observing certain physical phenomena in one inertial frame of reference, when moving to another (inertial frame of reference moving relative to the first) finds that in this frame of reference everything happens in the same way .
