This phenomenon arises at the junction of classical and relativistic dynamics. Here, the product of a large mass on the entire path traveled, measured at the moment of its stopping, will be less than the product of a small grown mass at the moment of stopping on it the traversed path measured at the time of the stop. Note that the paths for masses are measured from the point of their original position (center of mass). And at the time of stopping these two masses are almost equal to the same value as before the stop (the Lorentz transformation). In order for the proportion to be true with respect to the center of mass of the two bodies, it is necessary that the reality be classical, that is, the masses do not change, hence the distances, but relativistic reality and the masses change, and therefore the distances they travel vary, and the proportion for the two unequal masses will be violated, then There is a right proportion in relation to the new center of mass.
