Water softening

Water softening - freezing in winter and all year round dilution with distillate.

Well, about the distillate and so it is clear, but I will try to freeze more.
Pour water into any plastic container, take it out into the cold. When about 2/3 of the water freezes, pierce a hole in the ice, pour out the frozen brine, and put the ice thawing. It turns out that water is 1 to 2 degrees stiff.
At boiling, only the bicarbonate (temporary) water hardness is reduced. And for aquatic plants, it is simply necessary. So for a common aquarium with aquatic plants boiled water is unsuitable.
So if someone is useful, then fine. If I remember anything else, I'll write it.
