Do you have the habit of recklessly attacking opponents in order to challenge their arguments? 7. Do you feel the need to argue? Do you quickly slip into a dispute in any discussion? 8. Do people around you avoid discussing your plans with you? 9. And if they are discussing - do they conduct a conversation from the very beginning in a defensive or attacking key? 10. Are the external symbols of high position and power very important to you? 11. Does anyone at any cost quit your responsibility in case of failure? 12. Are you reluctant to give others the same privileges or symbols of power that you own? 13. Do you often use the pronoun "I" to describe your activities? 14. Do your subordinates admire your determination and qualification or that in your organization and with your support they themselves can be resolute and constantly improve their skills? 15. Do you feel with bitterness and disappointment that people talk about you with restraint and with "coldness", whereas you really want them to love you? |
The key to the test
If you answered positively at least three of the 15 questions, it is possible that some of the "rough" edges of your character are very painfully perceived by others.
If you gave six positive answers, then it is very likely that your relations with colleagues are somewhat more strained than you would like.
About more answers "Yes" is nothing to say. We must only emphasize that a positive response to any of these questions does not yet indicate anything. Only in the complex they depict the profile of the "rough" person.
Explanations to the test
But what if you really have a "roughness" of character?
Of course, to understand this means to make a big step towards "recovery": in fact now you will know which moments of your behavior you should watch especially. But it's quite difficult to overcome oneself alone.
A huge help to you can be provided by a person whom you unconditionally trust: spouse, friend, your leader or, finally, a specialist psychologist. It is especially useful to contact a specialist if your character has already begun to bring you serious problems.
In general, all managers who tend to pay too much attention to monitoring the work of their subordinates, it is useful, mindful of all that has been said, to figure out whether they are too much on the nerves of others and do not interfere with the implementation of their own plans.
