THE DEATH PENALTY

- A form of punishment, which is used only in the cases provided for in the sanctions article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; extraordinary measure of punishment, which can be established only for especially grave crimes encroaching on life.

SK is not assigned: women; persons who have committed crimes under the age of 18 years; men who have reached the moment of the court's 65-year-olds sentence.

SK is not indicated for the verdict of the jury for leniency.

SK by pardon may be replaced by life imprisonment or imprisonment for a term of 25 years.
