(1851-1916) is a jurist, sociologist.

KOVALEVSKY MAXIM MAKSIMOVICH

Biography: after graduating from the 3rd Kharkov Gymnasium, K. in 1868 entered the Law Faculty of Kharkov University.

After graduating from university, K. continues his education in Europe. He was preparing for a degree in Berlin, Paris, London.

In 1877 K. returned to Russia and became an assistant professor, and later a professor at Moscow University. Actively worked as a scientist and teacher.

K. perfectly mastered many foreign languages, knew the economy well, the history of European states, so he willingly read various courses at universities in England and France. Sweden, United States of America. In 1895, Mr .. K. elected vice-chairman, and in 1907, chairman of the International Institute of Sociology.

In 1905, K. returned to St. Petersburg, continuing to engage in teaching activities, to work on scientific problems. He is actively involved in socio-political activities as the founder of the Constitutional-Monarchist Party of Democratic Reforms, a deputy of the First State Duma, a member of the State Council.
