ISO 9000 international standards for quality systems. Composition of standards
The ISO 9000 standards were developed by the ISO / TC 176 Technical Committee as a result of the synthesis of the accumulated national experience of different countries regarding the implementation and operation of quality systems. They do not relate to a specific sector of industry or economy and are guidelines for quality management and general requirements for its provision, selection and construction of elements of a quality system. These standards contain a description of the elements that should include quality systems, and not the order of their introduction by an organization. They do not aim to encourage the creation of the same quality systems because different organizations have different needs. The construction and ways of implementing quality systems must necessarily take into account the specific goals of the organization, the products it produces, the processes that are used, and the specific methods of work.
Over the years since the publication of these standards, they have been widely recognized and disseminated; More than 50 countries have adopted them as national. After that, the process of their wide application for the certification of quality systems began, which led to the need to determine the rules of the certification procedure itself and the requirements for experts who carry out system checks.
To this end, ISO / TK 176 prepared and published in the years 19901992. Two ISO 10000: ISO 10011 and ISO 10012 standards. The first, ISO 10011, has three separate parts: 1) manuals for checking the quality system; 2) qualification requirements for experts-auditors on the verification of the quality system; 3) management of the quality control program. The second, ISO 10012, contains requirements for quality assurance of measuring equipment.
Later on, the ISO 9000 and ISO 8402 standards were modified to make them more user-friendly, after which they have the following composition.
ISO 8402: 1994 quality management and quality assurance. Dictionary. In this standard, in particular, the definition of quality as a set of characteristics of an object relating to its ability to meet established and perceived needs is given.
ISO 9000: 1994 standards for quality management and quality assurance. They consist of such parts: 1) instructions for choice and application; 2) instructions for the selection of ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003; 3) manuals on the use of ISO 9001 for the development, delivery and maintenance of software; 4) guidelines for managing the reliability program.
ISO 9001: 1994 quality system. Model for quality assurance in the design, development, production, installation and maintenance. This standard should be applied when it is necessary to confirm the ability of the supplier company to manage the processes in the design and manufacture of the respective products. The established requirements are mainly aimed at achieving customer satisfaction by preventing product inconsistencies at all stages from design to maintenance.
ISO 9002: 1994 quality system. Model for quality assurance in production, installation and maintenance. This standard should be applied when it is necessary to confirm the ability of the supplier company to manage the processes in the production of the relevant products.
ISO 9003: 1994 quality system. Model for quality assurance in final inspection and testing. This standard should be applied when it is necessary to confirm the supplier's ability to select non-conforming products and manage their disposal in the final inspection and testing process.
ISO 9004: 1994 quality management and quality system elements. These standards consist of such parts: 1) instructions; 2) manuals on services; 3) manuals on recyclable materials; 4) guidelines for improving the quality; 5) manuals on quality programs; 6) guidelines for quality assurance in project management; 7) configuration management manuals; 8) manuals on the principles of the quality system and their application for management.
The framework of the training manual does not allow us to consider all the ISO 9000 series standards, therefore we will give only a general idea of the quality system according to these standards.
