Summary

Choosing a strategy and its implementation is an essential part of strategic management. The strategy in strategic management is understood as a long-term qualitative definite direction development of the organization relating to such parties of its activities, as the scope, means and form.

Choice of strategy depends on the situation in which the organization. However, there are certain approaches for choosing a strategy and a certain framework in which to fit the strategy.

Choosing a strategy associated with the decision about one of the following three aspects of functioning of the company: 1) termination of certain businesses; 2) continuation of certain businesses; 3) transition in a certain business. This company develops a strategy in the following main areas: 1) lead to the minimization of production costs; 2) specialization in the manufacture of the product; 3) fixing a particular market segment.

There are several groups of standard business development strategies. The first group includes the strategy of concentrated growth, the second - the strategy of integrated growth, the third - the strategy of diversified growth and, finally, the fourth - reduction strategy.

The Strategy involves the clarification of the current strategy and the analysis of the product portfolio. Choosing a strategy associated with the state of the key factors, which include the strengths of the industry and the company, the goals of the company, the interests of the senior management of the financial resources of the firm, qualification of workers, the obligation of the company, the degree of dependence on the external environment, the time factor.

Evaluation of the chosen strategy is carried out in the following areas: 1) Does the strategy leading to the achievement of company objectives; 2) whether the chosen strategy of environment and requirements; 3) whether the chosen strategy of the company and the potential opportunities; 4) Whether the risk is justified, founded in the strategy.

Implementation of the strategy due to the conduct of the strategic changes that should lead to the solution of three problems: 1) prioritizing administrative tasks in accordance with the adopted strategy; 2) the establishment of the correspondence between the chosen strategy and internal organizational processes; 3) bringing into line with the strategy chosen style of leadership and management. The main areas of strategic changes is the organizational structure and organizational culture.

Strategic changes necessarily faced with organizational changes. Task management - to try to make changes so that in this case have been resolved arising from conflicts resistance. Implementation of the changes should be completed establishment of a new status quo in the organization.
