INHERITANCE OF STATE AWARDS, HONORARY AND MEMORABLE SIGNS.

Awards are differentiated depending on whether the law on state awards applies to them or does not apply.

State awards, which were awarded to the testator and which are covered by legislation on

State awards of the Russian Federation, are not part of the inheritance. The transfer of such awards after the death of the person awarded to others is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation on state awards of the Russian Federation.

State awards of the Russian Federation are the highest form of encouragement of citizens for outstanding services in defense of the Fatherland, state building, economy, science, culture, art, education, health protection, life and citizens' rights, charitable activities and other outstanding services to the state. The state awards of the Russian Federation include the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, orders, medals, insignia of the Russian Federation; Honorary titles of the Russian Federation.

Such state awards are not part of the inheritance and are subject to transfer (after the death of the recipient) to others.

Regulations on state awards of the Russian Federation established that for showing courage, courage and heroism the appropriation of the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, awarding an order or a medal can be made posthumously.

Such awards and documents to them persons who are awarded posthumously, are transferred for storage as a memory to one of the spouses, father, mother, son or daughter (hereinafter referred to as heirs).

In case of death of the awardees, state awards and documents to them remain with the heirs. In the absence of these heirs, state awards and documents to them are subject to return to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for state awards.

These awards and documents to them deceased awarded or awarded posthumously can be transferred to the state museums with the consent of the heirs, upon the decision of the Commission for State Awards under the President of the Russian Federation, if there is a request of the museum, supported by the relevant state authority of the subject of the Russian Federation, or at the request of the federal executive body, In charge of which is the museum.

Transferred to museums for storage and exhibiting state awards are not returned to the heirs of the deceased awarded or awarded posthumously. Such a requirement also applies to awards given to museums before the adoption of this Regulation. State awards can not be stored in museums working on a voluntary basis and not provided with the necessary storage conditions

Citizens of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens and stateless persons who are awarded with state awards who leave the Russian Federation abroad have the right to export these state awards in the presence of documents confirming their rewarding.

The heirs of the deceased, who leave the Russian Federation for permanent residence abroad, have the right to export documents on the awarding of their deceased relative, and the procedure for their export is regulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

State awards of the Russian Federation, honorary, memorable and other signs, including awards and signs in the collection, are part of the inheritance and are inherited on general grounds, which are established by the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

Memorable gifts (watches, award weapons) are inherited in the order established for the inheritance of the respective categories of things.
