-organisations of local self-government. One of the main tasks of these bodies is the identification of persons in need of establishing custody or guardianship over them.

Guardianship and trusteeship are established over persons incompetent or limited in capacity to protect their rights and interests. When a person is recognized as fully incompetent or incapable, the court issues a decision, which must be notified to the guardianship authority at the place of residence of that person within 3 days from the date the decision enters into legal force. Then within a month from the moment when it became known about the need to appoint guardianship or guardianship over a person, the guardianship and trusteeship bodies appoint a guardian or curator. However, if the guardian or guardian is not appointed within the established period, the guardianship and trusteeship authority temporarily performs their duties. A guardian or curator may be appointed only with the consent of the appointed person.
