REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES

At elections to the State Duma or to the post of President of the Russian Federation is an independent stage of the electoral process in the Russian Federation.

For RK, the federal list of candidates, an authorized representative of a political party, electoral bloc submits to the Central Election Commission (a district election commission - a candidate for a single-mandate constituency) documents:

1) signature sheets with voter signatures collected in support of the nomination of a candidate, political party;

2) a protocol on the results of the collection of voter signatures on paper in duplicate;

3) information on changes in the data on the candidate or political party submitted earlier to the election commission;

4) the first financial report of the candidate of a political party.

These documents are submitted to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation (to the district election commission - a candidate for a single-seat constituency) not earlier than 75 days and no later than 45 days prior to the voting day until 18:00 local time.

For registration, a candidate or a political party may not collect signatures in support of their nomination and not present to the election commission the collected signatures, but in this case RK, the federal list of candidates is made on the basis of an electoral deposit.

The electoral deposit is money transferred by a candidate to a special account of an election commission of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation or a political party (electoral bloc) to a special account of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.

All information received by the relevant election commissions from candidates or political parties must be checked by the election commissions for credibility.

The status of registered candidates is characterized by:

1) equality of candidates;

2) their right to state guarantees for participation in elections:

A) Candidates registered in a single-mandate electoral district and received at least 3% of the vote by the results of voting shall be reimbursed for transportation costs in the amount of the cost of tickets for city, as well as suburban and intercity railway transport of the general use within the territory of the corresponding district, By air, if the candidate lives and works in the area where there is no such transport;

B) the candidate, within the period necessary for participation in elections, can not be dismissed from his job, from the service at the initiative of the employer, expelled from the educational institution or, without his consent, transferred to another job;

C) the time of participation of a registered candidate in elections shall be included in the length of service for the specialty on which he worked before registration;

D) a registered candidate from the day of registration and until the announcement of the general results of elections can not be prosecuted, arrested or subjected to judicial punishment by administrative punishment without the consent of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
