Highway map WOT tactics

Description

The first thing to note is that the Highway is an American map and very similar in spirit to other American maps ( Live Oaks , Quiet Coast , Port ). The size of the map is 1000 by 1000 meters, the level of fighting is from 4 to 11. The same little cute little houses and an abundance of different vegetation.

The diversity of the landscape opens up a lot of space for different traffic routes and allows you to invent many tactics. The presence of a large open space can be used for flanking attacks, and a small town in the right corner of the map assumes an intense close combat.

It is important to note immediately that the artillery feels very well on the map as it shoots almost completely, and most of the buildings are destroyed.

Light tanks (LT):

On the Highway, light tanks have complete freedom of action. They can choose any route. It is recommended to shine along the river or make circles in the central area.

Medium tanks (CT):

For the average tank is preferable to the area of ​​the hills (the western part of the map). Maneuvering in the folds of the terrain, CT can cause great damage to the enemy both independently and highlighting targets for artillery. Also, medium tanks can go along the river bed.

Heavy tanks (TT):

Heavy tanks are the most comfortable in the city. Due to lack of speed, they are a convenient target in open areas. But do not forget that the city is not a key position. From the point of view of tactics, the seizure of the city does not give any advantages. In addition to the city, a village, bridges and a high bank above the river can provide some protection.

Antitank Self Propelled Artillery Plants (PT SAU):

The main task of the AP SAU is the protection of the base. First of all, the flanks, where the breakthrough of the CT is likely. On the map quite often there are bushes and small houses, so finding a comfortable position should not be very difficult.

Self-propelled artillery systems (ACS):

The map is very good for ACS operations. The artillery holds most of the map under fire. The main danger is the sudden breakthrough of medium tanks on the flank or a lone, light tank that has found a breach in defensive orders.

Tactics

On the map, you can select several local zones of combat operations (in the figure are marked with white ovals): this field (B2: D3), farm (E1: E4), city (H0: K0). The arrows mark the routes of the tanks.

The map of the Highway is open, which complicates the life of TT and PT, but CT and LT feel quite well. The main shelters are various uneven terrain and structure, you can use the river, it does not serve as a barrier to travel.

How to shine on the Highway.

Light tanks (LT)

On this map, I feel free and unlimited, you can go where your heart desires. At the beginning of the battle, enemy tanks can be lighted, traveling to the city, making a circle in the center of the map (marked with a yellow oval in the picture). Want to safely get to the enemy base - your way along the river.

Medium tanks (CT)

For CT options are several: go in place with a TT in the city or attack on the left side of the map, using the numerous hills and lowlands. Using the relief of the map, you can inflict a lot of damage to the enemy, not only damaging your gun, but also highlighting enemy tanks for artillery. There is another possibility to go along the river bed, but this option rarely leads to victory.

Heavy tanks (TT)

The life of a TT is dangerous and difficult, and there is only one choice - to go to the city. Because of the limited speed and maneuverability, they become easy targets in open terrain. But do not stand in the city, this is not a key position. Since most buildings are destroyed, it serves only as a temporary shelter from the arta. It is necessary to move systematically along the directions of the attack and take the base. In addition to the city, some protection can be given by the village, bridges and the high bank of the river.

Anti-tank Self Propelled Artillery Plants (PT SAU)

The main task of the PT is to protect the base on the Highway map. Choose a favorite bush near the spa and take it. First of all, it is necessary to cover the directions where the breakthrough of the ST is likely. More details about protected and useful places will be described below, in the section "People and Buildings".

Self-propelled Artillery Systems (ACS)

A lot of open space, there is room for work. Typically, the art from the base does not go far and occupies the squares J1: K1 for the lower respawn, and A9: A0 for the upper respawn. Do not focus all the fire on the field, because even in the city there are many places where you can cover enemy tanks. The main danger for us is the breakthrough of medium tanks or a lone LT that skidded at the most inopportune moment.

Let's start with the bottom of the map - up. Along the houses in the square J1 there are excellent bushes that will allow to shoot at the targets traveling from the city, and the buildings will be saved from the anger of the art.

In the city, in J0, most of the buildings are not destroyed and you can easily carry out a skirmish, but do not get carried away and see that you do not go into the rear.

Forest plantations on the 8th vertical will allow you to shoot with impunity on the tanks that have been hit by the highway or to skip over to the enemy in the rear.

In the village you can also find various bushes for lumbago fields, especially worth noting is not destroyed two-story house in F1.

If you manage to get to A1, then, driving 15m from the bushes, you can fire on enemy tanks on the field. Especially comfortable there will feel American ST with large angles of declination of the gun.

Bushes in B7 give the opportunity to covertly lead the enemy to the enemy on the field and stop the offensive from the water.
