A ski resort is a territory in a mountainous area, equipped for outdoor activities and sports, as a rule, mountain, winter sports: skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, mountain tourism, etc .; as well as treatment and prophylactic procedures.
The infrastructure of the ski resort includes: hotels, other accommodation for visitors, specially equipped tracks for skiing and snowboarding, ski lifts, sports equipment rental centers, catering establishments, parking, medical and preventive treatment facilities (mud and hydropathic establishments, spa-salons) , entertainment and leisure facilities (cinemas, discos, bowling, game centers, etc.). When they say " Carpathians " - they mean resorts near Franik, Lev, in the Carpathian region. We offer to check how the "old" modest resorts of Ivano-Frankivsk region live.
The regional center of Kosov is better known for its souvenir market. Indeed, in the city there is an institute of applied and decorative art with its own museum and shop where they sell masterpieces of folk art.
On the opposite bank of the Rybnitsa River from the city center stands the old wooden church of St. Basil the Great, built in 1895. A little further, near the ring road, begins the Hutsul National Park. On its territory, on the slopes of the Mikhaylovka mountain, there is an equipped ski slope with a length of 1200 m. To the top of the skiers the rope tow is pulling - patriarchal, but a reliable and cheap solution.
Accordingly, the snow is only natural. But do not think down that this slide is for beginners. On the contrary, it will suit freeride lovers. Hillocks and low hills at a speed turn into minitraplins. You can relax only at the bottom. At the same time and warm up. At the base of the mountain there is a ski rental, medical center and a cafe.
On the other side of the National Park "Hutsulschyna", 13 km from Kosovo, is the equally famous resort Sheshory.
People come here to admire the Silver Falls on the Pistin River.
If you go from Kosovo to the Chernivtsi region, then for some 15 km on the bank of the Cheremosh the village of Tyudov will meet. Its main attraction is a hundred-meter Sokilsky rock, stands on the shore. And on the slopes of the mountain of the same name laid several trails. The center of the resort became the base "Sokolskoe", whose owners took under the supervision and the ski slope.
The slopes are arranged in the form of a giant letter V. The smaller wing (800 m) is given to beginners and amateurs. They are serviced by a yoke. For professionals laid polutorakilometrovaya highway, where the chairlift leads.
The cost of one lift - 15 UAH. Ski-pass for the day - 200 UAH. Evening skiing from 18 to 21 hours - 150 UAH.

To get to the heart of the Carpathians, you need to go on a narrow mountain road in Verkhovyna. The village is located at an altitude of 620 m above sea level in the valley of the Black Cheremosh. The mountains of Mazurka rise above it - 1025 m, Tit - 1186 m, Belaya Mare -1473 m and, finally, Pop-Ivan - 2020 m. At the top of the last still stands the "White Elephant" - the ruins of the old Polish observatory.
For the last decades, the district has been actively developing health tourism, because in the vicinity of Verkhovyna there are more than a hundred sources of mineral water. And here is the purest mountain air and thick spruce forests. But the ride still is where.
Pushkar Mountain sheltered the 380 m long track. The width of the descent is from 20 to 60 m with a height difference of 72 m. It is serviced by a rope tow.
In the neighboring village Iltsy the size and character of the route is more serious. Its length is up to 700 m. Width is from 30 to 40 m.
Known tourist village is on the way to the only one in this part of the Carpathians pass. Among the sights - the wooden church of the Nativity of the Virgin of the XVII century. Interesting two old Austrian stone arched bridges built in 1895 during the construction of the Stanislav (Ivano-Frankivsk) -Yaremcha-Vorokhta-Rakhov railway.
The length of the smaller one is 100 m, and it still works. The second stretched for 130 m and is considered one of the longest stone railway bridges in Europe.
In previous years, Vorokhta was one of the leading ski resorts. At present, there is one route of average complexity on the Pushkar mountain with a length of 500 m, but with a high-speed tow bar with a length of 450 m. There are snow cannons and snowcat.
Yablunitsa is almost Bukovel. And to the emergence of the latter was actually the main ski center of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Many people call this village "Bukovel's private sector". Indeed, to the fashionable resort from here at hand.
The Dolgiy Grun (971 m), Dil (1045 m), Shcherban Top (1067 m) and Perekrestok (1091 m) - with slopes rise around the village. Basically they are laid on the slopes of the mountains Mikulinka, Goat and Dol.
