MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE (Magnesium hydroxide).

Formed by the interaction of magnesium oxide with water.
Along with antacid, it has a laxative effect.
It is used for peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, chronic gastritis with normal and increased secretion, as well as for constipation.
As an antacid, it is prescribed orally at 0.3-1.2 g 4 times a day (1 or 3 hours after a meal), as a laxative - 0.8-1.8 g at bedtime.
Possible side effects are allergic reactions.
Sometimes it violates the absorption of tetracyclines, iron preparations, glucocorticosteroids, digoxin, theophylline, anticholinesterase substances.
Method of release: tablets of 0.3 g (N. 24); 8.3% oral suspension in 125 and 300 ml vials.
