Medication Description: Warfarin (Warfarin)
3- (α-Acetonylbenzyl) -4-hydroxycoumarin.
Inhibits the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors (II, VII, IX, X) in the liver.
Fully absorbed in the digestive tract, T Ѕ is 40 h; Biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys.
Used for the prevention of thrombosis and embolism: in thrombosis of veins and peripheral arteries, pulmonary thromboembolism, coronary artery disease, in chronic atrial fibrillation, as well as in prosthetic heart valves and blood vessels.
Assign inside, starting with 0.01 g (10 mg) 1 time per day for 1-2 days, then 0.005-0.0075 g (5-7.5 mg) per day. The action appears on the 3-5 day after the start of application and lasts 3-5 days after the cancellation.
Possible side effects: bleeding, rarely - vasculitis, diarrhea, increased activity of liver enzymes, eczema, alopecia.
The drug is contraindicated in acute bleeding, pronounced disorders of the liver and kidneys, severe hypertension, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The anticoagulant effect is enhanced by acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs, dipyridamole, heparin, simvastatin and weaken laxatives, cholestyramine, paracetamol (in large doses), vitamin K (antagonist).
