Description of the medicine: Warfarin (Warfarin)
3- (α-Acetonylbenzyl) -4-hydroxycoumarin.
Suppresses the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors (II, VII, IX, X) in the liver.
Fully absorbed in the digestive tract, T Ѕ is 40 hours; undergoes biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys.
Used for the prevention of thrombosis and embolism: with thrombosis of veins and peripheral arteries, pulmonary thromboembolism, coronary heart disease, with chronic atrial fibrillation, as well as with prosthetics of the heart and blood vessels.
Assign inside, starting with 0.01 g (10 mg) 1 time per day for 1-2 days, then 0.005-0.0075 g (5-7.5 mg) per day. The action is manifested 3-5 days after the start of use and lasts 3-5 days after cancellation.
Possible side effects: bleeding, rarely - vasculitis, diarrhea, increased activity of liver enzymes, eczema, alopecia.
The drug is contraindicated in acute bleeding, severe violations of the liver and kidneys, severe hypertension, pregnancy and lactation.
The anticoagulant effect is enhanced by acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs, dipyridamole, heparin, simvastatin and weaken laxatives, cholestyramine, paracetamol (in large doses), vitamin K (antagonist).
Release form: tablets on 0,0025 g (2,5 mg) (N. 50, 100).
