Medication Description: Fluticasone (Flunicasone)
S- (Fluoromethyl) 6α, 9-difluoro-11β, 17-dioxy-16α-methyl-3-oxo-androsta-1,4-diene-17β-carbate, 17-propionate.
Synonyms: Kutivate, Fliksonaze, Fliksotid, Cutivate, Flixonase, Flixotide.
White or off-white powder. It is practically insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and methanol and good in dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide.
Trifluorinated glucocorticosteroid for topical administration.
Prescribed externally - for inflammatory and allergic skin diseases, intranasal - for rhinitis, inhalation - for bronchial asthma.
Apply on the skin in a thin layer in the form of 0.05% ointment or cream 2 times a day. The drug has a pronounced therapeutic effect and relatively rarely causes atrophic changes in the skin.
Inhalation is prescribed for adults and children over 16 years old at 0.1-1 mg, for children over 4 years old - 0.05-0.1 mg 2 times a day.
Intranasal spray is administered at 0.1 mg 1 time per day (in the morning), for children under 12 years old - at 0.05 mg per each nasal passage.
When using the drug are possible: cream and ointment - burning and itching at the site of application, hypopigmentation and hypertrichosis; aerosol for inhalation - candidiasis of the oral mucosa, hoarseness; Intranasal Spray - Nasopharyngeal irritation.
Forms of release: dosage aerosol (0.025; 0.05; 0.125 and 0.25 mg / dose; 60 and 120 doses); powder for inhalation in rotadiskah (0.05; 0.1; 0.25 and 0.5 mg / dose; 4 doses); dosage spray for intranasal administration (0.05 mg / dose; 60 and 120 doses); 0.005% ointment and 0.05% cream in tubes of 15 g.
Seretide Multidisk. Dosing powder, in 1 dose of which contains 0.05 mg salmeterol and 0.1; 0.25 and 0.5 mg fluticasone.
