Description of the medicine: Clodronate sodium (Clodronate disodium)
SODIUM CLODRONATE (Clodronate disodium).
Disodium salt of dichloromethane diphosphonic acid.
Synonym: Bonefos, Bonefos.
It inhibits bone resorption.
It is used to reduce bone injuries and pain in osteoporosis in cancer patients (with multiple myeloma and other malignant neoplasms with bone metastases).
Assign intravenously and orally.
In the first 3-5 days, 0.3 g (3-5 mg / kg) is administered intravenously (dropwise) in 500 ml of an isotonic sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose per day. Then it is taken orally at 0.8 g (2 capsules) 3 times a day in courses of 60 days.
When injected into a vein, proteinuria is possible; when taken orally, gastrointestinal upsets.
Method of release: capsules of 0.4 g (400 mg) (N. 100); 6% solution (concentrate) in ampoules of 5 ml.
