Description of the medicine: Efavirenz (Ifavirenz)
Synonym: Stockrin, Stocrin.
A direct HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitor does not act on HIV-2 reverse transcriptase.
When ingested, it is well absorbed, C max is 5 hours, T Ѕ - 52-76 hours; undergoes biotransformation in the liver, excreted by the kidneys.
Used in the complex treatment of HIV infection (mainly in combination with two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors). In combination regimens, non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors replace protease inhibitors in some cases.
Assign inside adults to 0.6 g, children - 0.2-0.6 g 1 time per day.
The main side effects include neurological and mental disorders (dizziness, drowsiness, depression, hallucinations, ataxia, neuralgia, cramps, impaired vision and hearing, amnesia, etc.); skin rash, dyspeptic symptoms, nephrolithiasis, hematuria, peripheral edema, arthralgia, myalgia are observed.
Release form: capsules on 0,05 and 0,1 g (N. 30) and 0,2 g (N. 42, 90).
