Medication Description: Starch (Amylum)
It is obtained from wheat kernels - wheat starch (Amylum Тritici), corn (Аmуlum Мaydis), rice (Аmуlum Оryzae), from potato tubers (Аmуlum Sоlani).
White delicate odorless powder and taste, or pieces of irregular shape, when rubbed easily crumble into powder.
It is insoluble in cold water and forms a colloidal solution in hot water (Musilago Amyli).
Assign as an enveloping agent, externally (in the form of powders and powders with zinc oxide, talc, etc.), inside and in enemas (in the form of starch paste or mucus) to protect sensitive nerve endings from exposure to irritating substances and to slow the absorption drugs.
