Description of the medicine: Starch (Amylum)
Obtained from wheat grains - wheat starch (Amylum Tritici), corn (Amlum Maydis), rice (Amulum Oryzae), and potato tubers (Amulum Solani).
White, delicate, odorless and tasteless powder, or pieces of irregular shape that easily crumble into powder upon grinding.
In cold water it is insoluble, in hot it forms a colloidal solution (Musilago Amyli).
Assign as an enveloping agent, externally (in the form of powders and powders with zinc oxide, talc, etc.), inside and in enemas (in the form of starch paste or mucus) to protect sensitive nerve endings from irritating substances and to slow absorption medicines.
