Prednisolone hemisuccinate (Prednisolon hemisuccinas).
Pregnadiene-1, 4-triol-11 b, 17 a, 21-dion-3, 20 succinate disodium salt.
Synonyms: Prednisoloni hemisuccinat, Prednisoloni succinas, Prednisolonum bisuccinicum, Di-Adresson-F-aquosum, Endoprenovis, Farnisol, Lio-cort.
Available in lyophilized form in ampoules of 0.025 g.
A porous mass or powder, white or white with a creamy tint. Soluble in water.
Indications for use are the same as for prednisone.
As a water-soluble drug is administered intravenously or intramuscularly for emergency therapy in conditions requiring a rapid increase in the concentration of glucocorticosteroids in the body (acute adrenal insufficiency, acute allergic reactions, asthmatic status, shock conditions, etc.).
For injection, the contents of the ampoule are dissolved in 5 ml of sterile water for injection, preheated to 35 - 37 C. For drip administration, the resulting solution is diluted in 250 - 500 ml of an isotonic sodium chloride solution, 5% glucose or polyglucin solution.
Usually administered first intravenously, then drip.
In shock, a single dose is 50 - 150 mg (in severe cases, up to 400 mg). Reintroduced after 3 to 4 hours. The daily dose of 300 to 1200 mg.
In acute adrenal insufficiency, a single dose is 100 - 200 mg, daily 300 - 400 mg.
With asthmatic status, 500 to 1200 mg per day are administered, followed by a dose reduction of 300 to 150-100 mg per day.
In case of severe allergic reactions, 100 to 200 mg per day are administered.
The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease, the patient's condition and therapeutic effectiveness.
If intravenous administration is not possible, the drug is administered intramuscularly.
Side effects and contraindications are the same as when using other similar drugs
