Description of the drug: Prednisolone hemisuccinate (Prednisolon hemisuccinas)
Prednisolon hemisuccinas (Prednisolon hemisuccinas).
Pregnadien- 1, 4-triol-11 b, 17 a, 21 -dione-3, 20 succinate disodium salt.
Synonyms: Prednisoloni hemisuccinat, Prednisoloni succinas, Prednisolonum bisuccinicum, Di-Adresson-F-aquosum, Endoprenovis, Farnisol, Lio-cort.
Available in lyophilized form in ampoules of 0.025 g.
White or white with a creamy tinge porous mass or powder. Soluble in water.
Indications for use are the same as for prednisone.
As a water-soluble drug is administered intravenously or intramuscularly for emergency therapy in conditions requiring a rapid increase in the concentration of glucocorticosteroids in the body (acute adrenal insufficiency, acute allergic reactions, asthmatic status, shock conditions, etc.).
For injections, dissolve the contents of the ampoule in 5 ml of sterile water for injection, preheated to 35-37 C. For the drip, dilute the resulting solution in 250-500 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution, 5% glucose or polyglucin solution.
Usually administered first intravenously, then drip.
In shock, a single dose is 50-150 mg (up to 400 mg in severe cases). Re-enter after 3 to 4 hours. Daily dose of 300 to 1200 mg.
In acute adrenal insufficiency, a single dose is 100–200 mg, daily 300–400 mg.
In case of asthmatic status, 500-1200 mg per day is administered with a subsequent dose reduction of 300-150-100 mg per day.
In case of severe allergic reactions, 100-200 mg per day is administered.
The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease, the patient’s condition and therapeutic efficacy.
When intravenous administration is not possible, the drug is used intramuscularly.
Side effects and contraindications are the same as when using other similar drugs
