Description of medicine: Calcium glutamate (Calcii glutaminas)
CALCIUM GLUTAMINATE (Calcii glutaminas).
Glutamic acid calcium salt.
White crystalline powder of a bitter-sour taste. Soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol. Solutions (pH 5, 2 - 6, 5) are sterilized at a temperature of + 100 C for 30 minutes.
They are used (along with glutamic acid) for mental disorders due to cerebral atherosclerosis, post-traumatic epilepsy, presenile psychoses, tuberculous meningitis (in the acute period and in the treatment of residual effects), in the acute period of arachnoencephalitis and poliomyelitis, as well as in psychosis.
Assign to adults inside 20-50 ml of a 10% solution 3 times a day, for children under 3 years old - 5 ml, from 3 to 5 years old - 10 ml, from 5 to 10 years old - 15 ml; older than 10 years - 20-30 ml 3 times a day. Take within 4 to 6 months; the course of treatment, if necessary, is repeated after 2 to 3 months.
Adults inject 10 ml of a 10% solution into the vein daily or every other day (for the first time - no more than 3-5 ml). Children under 3 years old are given 2 ml, from 3 to 5 years old - 3 ml each, from 5 to 10 years old - 5 ml each, over 10 years old - 10 ml each (for the first time they are administered 1-2 ml less than the indicated doses) . The course of treatment consists of 15 to 20 injections.
