Description of the medicine: Enterodesum (Enterodesum)
The drug is a low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone with the same molecular weight as that of hemodesis (12,600 # 2700), which has, like hemodesis, detoxification properties, but is intended for oral administration.
White or slightly yellowish powder with a slight specific odor. Soluble in water; hygroscopic.
The drug is prescribed for adults with toxic forms of acute infectious, gastrointestinal diseases (dysentery, salmonellosis, etc.), foodborne infections, acute liver and kidney failure, toxicosis of pregnant women and other types of intoxications.
Enterodesis binds toxins that enter the gastrointestinal tract or are formed in the body and remove them through the intestines. The therapeutic effect usually develops 15-30 minutes after taking the drug.
Take orally at a dose of 5 g 1 to 3 times a day until the disappearance of intoxication phenomena (2 to 7 days). If necessary, the course of treatment can be extended up to 10 - 15 days.
Before use, dissolve 5 g of powder (1 teaspoon) in 100 ml of boiled water (you can add sugar or fruit juice).
There is evidence of the effectiveness of enterodesis in patients with peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (5 g 3 times a day before meals with diet and antacids; the course of treatment is 2 to 4 months).
Usually the drug is well tolerated. In some cases, nausea (rarely vomiting) is possible, passing on its own.
