one And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, saying to them:
2 tell the sons of Israel: these are the animals that you can eat from all the cattle on earth:
3 every cattle with hooves bifurcated and a deep cut on the hooves, and which chews gum, eat;
4 only do not eat those who chew gum and have cloven hooves: a camel, because it chews gum, but its hooves are not bifurcated, it is unclean for you;
5 and jerboa, because he chews gum, but his hooves are not forked, he is unclean for you,
6 and a hare, because he chews gum, but his hooves are not bifurcated, he is unclean for you;
7 and pigs, because her hooves are bifurcated and the incision is deep in the hooves, but she does not chew gum, it is unclean for you;
eight do not eat their meat and do not touch their corpses; they are unclean to you.

nine Of all the [animals] that are in the water, eat these: who have feathers and scales in the water, whether in the seas, or rivers, eat those;
ten but all those who do not have feathers and scales, whether in the seas, or rivers, from all those floating in the waters and from all that lives in the waters, are filthy for you;
eleven they must be filthy for you: do not eat their meat and abhor their corpses;
12 all [animals] that do not have feathers and scales in the water are filthy for you.
thirteen Of the birds, abhor these: an eagle, a neck, and a sea eagle,
fourteen kite and falcon with his breed,
fifteen every raven with its breed,
sixteen ostrich, owl, seagull and hawk with its breed,
17 eagle owl, fisherman and ibis,
18 swan, pelican and vulture,
19 herons, cocking with his breed, hoopoe and bat.

twenty All [animals] reptiles, winged, walking on four [legs] are filthy for us;
21 of all reptiles, winged, walking on four [legs], only eat those that have shins above their legs to jump on the ground;
22 these eat of them: locusts with her breed, salam with her breed, hargol with her breed and hagab with her breed.
23 Any [other] reptile, winged, with four legs, is bad for you;
24 from them you will be unclean: everyone who touches their corpse will be unclean until evening;
25 and everyone who takes their corpse must wash their clothes and be unclean until evening.
26 Any cattle whose hooves are bifurcated, but do not have a deep cut, and which does not chew gum, is unclean for you: anyone who touches it will be unclean.
27 Of all the four-legged animals, those that walk on their feet are unclean for you: anyone who touches their corpse will be unclean until evening;
28 he who takes their corpse must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening: they are unclean to you.
29th Here's what is unclean to you from animals that creep on the ground: a mole, a mouse, a lizard with its breed,
thirty anaka, chameleon, summer, homet and tinshemet, -
31 These are unclean to you from all reptiles: everyone who touches them dead will be unclean until evening.
32 And everything that some of them fall on, every wooden vessel, or clothing, or skin, or bag, and every thing that is used for work, will be unclean: they should put them in water, and they will be unclean until evening, then they will be clean;
33 if any of them falls into some clay vessel, then the one that is in it will be unclean, and break the [vessel] itself.
34 Any food that is eaten, on which there was water [from such a] [vessel], will be unclean, and every drink that is drunk will be unclean in every [such] vessel.
35 Everything that falls from their corpse will be unclean: the furnace and the hearth must be broken, they are unclean; and they must be unclean to you;
36 only the source and well containing water remain clean; but he who touches their corpse is unclean.
37 And if something from their corpse falls on some seed that they sow, then it is clean;
38 if then, as water is poured on the seed, something from their corpse falls on it, then it is unclean for you.
39 And when any cattle that you eat dies, the person who touches the corpse will be unclean until the evening;
40 and he who eats his carrion must wash his clothes and be unclean until evening; and he who carries his body shall wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.
41 Every animal that creeps on the ground is bad for you, should not eat [it];
42 do not eat everything crawling on the womb and everything walking on four legs, and centipedes of animals creeping on the ground, for they are filthy;

43 do not defile your souls with any reptile animals and do not make yourself unclean through them, so as to be unclean through them,
44 for I am the Lord your God: be sanctified and be holy, for I am holy; and do not defile your souls with any animals crawling on the ground,
45 for I am the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. So be holy, because I am holy.
46 Here is the law on livestock, on birds, on all animals living in the waters, and on all animals creeping on the ground,
47 to distinguish unclean from pure, and animals that can be eaten, from animals that should not be.
